The hygienists work under the prescription of a dentist. They assist in the monitoring, assessment and treatment of 'gum disease', as well as undertaking non-invasive preventive treatments.
The role of the hygienist continues to be of great significance and is vital to a practice orientated around preventing dental diseases.
